School Trip Pathways

At Devizes School, we consider it essential to maintain a broad and balanced curriculum for our pupils and arrange a variety of trips for pupils throughout the year, ensuring that all pupils have the opportunity to access exceptional experiences outside the classroom. We therefore provide an extensive range of off-site educational activities that closely link back to the curriculum, develop social skills and offer a little fun at the same time!

The residential opportunities and trips we offer further supplement the development of independence and self-confidence amongst our pupils. Many of these encourage essential life skills such as co-operation, teamwork and resilience.

We also offer a diverse approach to our curriculum via opportunities such as our “Regrow” intervention. Pupils are currently working together to reinvigorate wildlife areas in school by creating a sustainable garden and allotment area.

Being involved members of our local community is important to us at Devizes School, and our pupils are involved in an abundance of learning opportunities that focus on the local history of the town, broaden the cultural capital of the pupils and celebrate the outstanding attitude and work ethic we see within the school.

Ensuring pupils are ready to branch out into the wider world once they leave us aged 18, we offer a number of careers and further educational informative visits. Trips to Universities, careers activities and workshops within the school and numerous career fayres provide pupils with as much knowledge as possible to help make an informed decision on their next steps.

School reward trips are designed to give pupils the opportunity to unwind and be rewarded for their efforts and achievements, whilst further strengthen their social bonds with their peers. Fun, memorable experiences held beyond the classroom leave our pupils with a positive outlook on their education, and present important opportunities for them to demonstrate the skills and values they have learned in school. Back in the classroom, these shared experiences can be called upon to reinforce and energise their learning.

We offer a multitude of fantastic opportunities for our pupils, and regularly receive feedback from members of the public and parents on how polite and warm, welcoming and friendly our pupils are when out in the community.
